Bulkhead/Firewall Modifications

one shows the chunk of firewall on the passenger side of my LHD cut away
to make room for the V8.

of the firewall patch panel from inside the footwell. The sheetmetal patch
was 18 gauge, hand formed with a ball peen hammer and a shop vice. Pretty
primative, but it came out nice.

As you can see, I omitted the heater from my '71 MGBGT.
Omitting the heater allows the engine to be moved rearward, saves considerable
weight, and eliminates many cooling system failure modes. Most of all, it
allows use of the cowl vent for a better purpose: it becomes an intake for
cool, pressurized air for the engine. You can also see that the bulkhead
has been modified just above the steering column pass-thru.
