AUSTRALIAN M.G. NAT-MEET

This is advance notice of the 1997 Australian M.G. National Meeting, to be held at the Royal Pines resort, just a little inland from Surfers Paradise in Queensland, at Easter 1997. For details when they become available, contact the Secretary of the Gold Coast M.G. Car Club at P.O. Box 1018, Southport, Queensland 4215, Australia. This is a great opportunity to combine a memorable holiday with Australia's premier M.G. meeting.

1996 CIRCUIT OF IRELAND RETROSPECTIVE RALLY REGULATIONS AVAILABLE

The Ulster Automobile Club will be running their ever popular of Ireland Retrospective rally again, with Roger Corbett taking over as Clerk of the Course. After ten successful years, the organisers are doing much head scratching to come up with improvements to the event's format of 3 days encompassing regularity, night navigation and driving tests.

This year's rally will take place on the weekend of 11th-13th October and continues the tradition of varying the start and finish locations. A longer route than last year is planned starting in Newcastle County Down and finishing in Kenmare, County Kerry which will be the base for the event in Southern Ireland having proved so popular the last time it was used.

CUMBRIA CLASSIC WEEKEND

Cumbria's biggest motor sporting event, the Cumbria Classic Weekend will take place on 29th/30th June and entry forms are now available. The annual event for classic, historic and vintage cars organised by Wigton Motor Club and sponsored by the Cumberland News, attract over 400 cars to the county over the weekend. Entries come from all over Britain and this year overseas entries are expected from Germany, Ireland and France.

Saturday sees the Cumbria Classic Caper and Classic Canter take in a 120 mile route in the Lake District using some of the most challenging and scenic roads in the region.

On Sunday the Cumbria Classic Car Show takes place at Carlisle Race Course where hundreds of classic and vintage cars will be on display, along with the usual auto-jumble and club displays.

PRINCE BISHOPS RUN

M.G.C.C. Tyne Tees Centre invite you to enjoy the 1996 Prince Bishops Run, from York to Durham on Sunday 23rd June. Starting from the Clifton Moor Centre, York, the 100 mile route uses byroads to pass through some of the finest countryside in North Yorkshire and County Durham, finishing at County Hall, Durham, where the Prince Bishops and Prebends Trophies will be awarded.

This year the lunch stop will be at the Brymoor Ice Cream Parlour, at High Jervaulx, where there will be reserved parking for M.G.s and the choice of a picnic lunch, or light lunch can be bought in the cafe. Sampling the ice cream is highly recommended!

The afternoon section of the run follows a very scenic route which passes through Richmond and Barnard Castle, then heading off to the finish at County Hall carpark, where judging of the cars will take place.

Once again this very popular event, supported by Moss Darlington and Durham County Council, is open to M.G. cars of any age. The entry fee is #6 per car, which includes a route booklet, dashboard plaque, and the first 75 entries received will also get a rally plaque. ASHLEY GREEN NATTER EVENINGS CONCOURS

This regular event, which always attracts a good and varied entry of M.G.s from MMM to Bs, is being held on Tuesday 25th June this year.

The event is an informal 'judge it yourself' concours commencing from 7.30pm in the car park of The Golden Eagle public house at Ashley Green, near Chesham, Bucks.

Entry is free to all M.G.s on the night and awards will be given on a class basis. With a good number of MGFs on the local roads, and an official dealer nearby, we are looking forward to welcoming these new owners this year.

Just arrive on the night or telephone Christa or Richard Colston on Amersham (01494) 728253 for details. The Landlord serves snacks and meals between 6.30 and 9.00pm.

ROBIN HILL, ISLE OF WIGHT CONCOURS & GYMKHANA SUNDAY 30th JUNE

A regular event since 1980 at this scenic and friendly venue. A motoring concours followed by two rounds of gymkhana tests on a flat grassy surface. Enough free time to explore Robin Hill Country Park and enjoy a picnic lunch or use the catering facilities available.

We can get some discount on the day return ferry charges, or you may prefer to make a weekend of it (there is a barbecue on the Saturday night) and we have arranged an all in package of ferry, 2 nights B&B hotel accommodation.
