NoKOP SUNDAY



‘No KIDS OR PARENTS SUNDAY RUN’

Last year Ann and I organised an unofficial run for people like ourselves who don’t have children or mothers still with us with whom to celebrate Mothers’ Day and who don’t want to feel left out at a time of celebration.



The ‘NoKOP’ Run proved to be a popular, fun run and so this year we’ve been asked again to organise a similar run on that day.



Like last year, this event will be open to any MG drivers and also any of our friends who would like to come along, giving what might be for them a rare, first hand opportunity to experience the fun of being in a car club event.



An Outline of the Day’s Programme:



Meet for departure at 10.30 a.m. prompt at Homebase car park, Brook Lane, Newcastle-under-Lyme.



A run through beautiful Staffordshire and Shropshire countryside with coffee and pit stops at places of interest, (free admissions).



Late Lunch at a country inn.



We will have our own reserved dining area and the inn will be staying open beyond its normal hours to accommodate us.





N.B. Confirmed numbers for people dining is essential and they will be needed by 5th. March at the very latest or dining places cannot be guaranteed.



‘Certificates of Completion’

will be presented to all participants.

Now in its 11th year with classes from the early 1900's through to modern day supercars. Held in the centre of Prestatyn with stalls, childrens entertainment, cream teas on the vicarage lawn to a live jazz band. The show is both free to enter and free for the public to attend. Sunday 30th May is a Classic Run through picturesque North Wales and Bank Holiday Monday is the static show in the Prestatyn town centre

An excellent day out for all the family. The show is set in 14 acres in the beautiful parkland of Tredegar House. It is expected that there will be over 1,500 exhibits at this huge event including Ford Model Ts of the early 1900s, through American Cadillacs from the 1980´s and sports cars such as Ferraris, Marcos, Stags, Lotus, Morgans, Jaguar, MGs, and many others. We expect around 100 motorcycles, the early machines start in the 1920s with manufacturers like Sun Vitesse, Zenith, B.S.A, moving through Harley Davidson, Triumph, Ariel, A.J.S and Greeves etc. to Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki of more recent times. Other exhibits include about 40 military vehicles including small tanks, jeeps etc, 100 stationary engines from as early as 1890's, 40 commercial vehicles ranging from small vans to monster trucks, and steam engines, tractors, bicycles, models, and over 40 Autojumble stalls,



For those not interested in the vintage, classic and other vehicles there will be other items of interest which include, over 50 stalls etc selling everything you can think of. A Craft Marquee with various types of craft being demonstrated and lovely items for sale. Children’s Amusements including large bouncy castles, large slides etc., and radio controlled boats on the lake - have a go if you like.

Refreshments: All kinds of food stalls etc. and licensed catering.

Arena events will take place throughout the day, including, parade of vehicles, historic battle re-enactments.

A Vintage & Classic Car Auction will be held by Newport Auctions Ltd at the Rally with all commission being donated to Leukaemia Research Fund .

We expect around 10,000 people visiting the show. FREE PARKING

The C.O.O.C. would like to invite MG owners to join us for our 2010 tour of Cornwall and visit to the Padstow Steam & Vintage Rally. The tour will start from Tadcaster N. Yorks during the early hours of Saturday July 3rd and take the scenic route to the west country via Fosse Way with various meeting points en route. We shall be basing our tour in the Tintagel & Boscastle area and I can supply details of all types of accomodation in the area. Sunday July 4th will see us at the Padstow Rally with a week of optional days out and runs to places of interest. Entry to this fun packed week with your classic car is Free. All pre-1980 makes and models of classic cars, their owners, enthusiasts and members of the public are cordially invited to a “perfick” family day out with a warm, friendly atmosphere. Woodvale Rally 7th & 8th August 2010 at RAF Woodvale airfield near Southport, Merseyside, L37 7AD is a large weekend event for all the family. We have a vintage and classic vehicle show with over 400 entrants, a car clubs section with 70 clubs and 1200 vehicles both cars and motorcycles, a military vehicles section and autojumble. The Rally has a model flying display, model boats and railways, many children’s entertainments, a fair, live music and a car boot sale.
