2012 Celebrates 50 Years of the MGB
This
year we celebrate 50 Years of the MGB. The first pre-production MGBs
were built in May of 1962, first production cars were built in June
1962. The MGB was officially unveiled at the press preview for the
London Motor Show in Earls Court on 20 September 1962. The line inside
the October 1962 edition of “Safety Fast” magazine read: ‘This month’s
cover: Formula for fun! - sunshine, a pretty girl and a brand new
sports car that sets new standards in comfort and effortless
performance—it’s the new MG Series MGB’. The MGB would go on to an 18
year production run of 512,243 cars. That’s a long time and a lot of
cars.

Club Meetings
- Club meetings are held monthly on the second Wednesday. In odd
months the meeting is in Windsor, ON and in even months the meeting is
in Farmington Hills, MI. The meetings start at around 7:30 pm but
join us earlier if you plan on having dinner. Most people start
arriving at about 6:00 pm.

Facebook Group
For
those members who are familiar with the social network Facebook, the
club has an established Facebook group that we urge you to join and
participate in. Besides enabling communication with fellow members, we hope it
will
 encourage
more impromptu get-togethers amongst members. Just as
the newsletter complemented word-of-mouth and the web site
complemented the newsletter, the Facebook group is yet one more
addition to our
suite of communication and networking tools. If
you're already registered with Facebook all you need to do is click on
the logo to the left or at the top of this home page. If you're not a Facebook member yet, you will be
prompted to sign up.
WDMGC MG Experience Club Forum
For those members who are familiar with discussion forums on The
MG Experience website, the club has an established Club Forum page that
we urge you to join and participate in. We hope the Club Forum
will become a popular place for members to discuss topics  of
mutual interest, club activities, suggestions to improve the club and
other club business. If you are already a member of The MG Experience
all you need to do is click on the logo to the left or at the top of
this home page. To post a topic or a message you will need to be an MG
Experience forum member. If you are not a member of The MG Experience
you will be prompted to become a member. The MG Experience membership
is free and membership can be upgraded to support The MG Experience
website for a small subscription fee.
