EXAMPLES OF OUR WORK

VINTAGE RESTORATIONS - THE COMPANY
Founded in 1967, our aim has always been to provide quality restoration of instruments and dashboard fittings. We do not deal with other items, in order to concentrate our efforts on one aspect of the vehicle restoration.

We now have over twenty five years of expertise, together with a considerable library of technical information, and knowledge. Our calibration and test equipment has been expanded over the years to cover most requirements.

OUR SERVICE
Dial We provide a full restoration service for all Veteran, Vintage and Classic Vehicle clocks, instruments, dashboards and accessories. We can completely restore all the instruments ensuring a matched finish as a set. This includes speedometers, revolution counters and cables; all types of mechanical and electrical clocks, pressure and temperature gauges, fuel gauges, ammeters, switches, dash lamps and other dash fittings.

In addition to full mechanical overhaul, calibration, and test, our service includes plating in nickel and chrome, polishing, stove enamelling, dial printing and motifs.

We do not supply dials, or components, on their own. Dial patterns, and trade mark copyrights respected. We will only print dials for each type of instruments in conjunction with restoration work.

Dash panels can be refinished in stove black, and engraved markings refilled. Other engraved items such as steering wheel controls, radiator and carburettor control plates can all be re-engraved, stoved and filled.

Restored instruments for sale as available include all types of clocks, speedometers, revolution counters, pressure gauges, water and oil temperature gauges, ammeters, fuel gauges, Hobson telegauges, gradient meters, switches, dash lamps etc.

Instruments also purchased, and taken in part exchange on restoration work.

We have a large stock of original instruments of many types, which can be rebuilt to suit most applications.

REPRODUCTION INSTRUMENTS
A number of reproduction instruments available to order. These include revolution counters for Bentley, M.G., Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferri etc. Pressure and temperature gauges for most makes. Ammeters and temperature gauges for Rolls Royce. Matched temperature gauges and oil pressure gauges for Bentley, Magneto and choke control plates for Bentley. We specialize in producing matched sets of instruments for classic racing cars such as Alfa Romeo, M.G., Le Mans Bentley & Maserati, Jaguar C and D type etc. All replicas of original units, using many original movements.

CALIBRATION AND POLARITY CHANGES
We can recalibrate most speedometers to suit changed axle ratios and tyres. Electric revolution counters and many clocks can also be changed to suit polarity. Send for our calibration instruction leaflet.

COMPONENTS
We use, wherever possible, original components, or if necessary new, manufactured to original specifications. These include temperature gauge capillary, armouring, and bulbs all to correct Smith or Jaeger patterns. We manufacture new bezels, glasses, pointers, and dial blanks, all to ensure correct detail in the restoration.

MACHINING
We have full machining facilities for the production of one off or batch components. We cast items in alloy or brass and can sand blast delicate items.

ESTIMATES
We give a written estimate for all work without obligation and without charge, other than return postage, before any work is put in hand. Should further details be required, photographs of various instruments are available, and we shall be pleased to advise and discuss your requirements. Our terms of business are detailed on the reverse.

PLANNING
Please plan well ahead with the restoration, allow us to advise and quote in the early days of the restoration work. Do not leave instruments until the last minute! There is a lot of work involved and we need time to help you.
