MGFest07 3rd - 5th August 2007

MGFest - the event with a difference !

MGFest07was brought to you by the MG Car Club (MGF Register).

MGFest07 took place over the weekend of the 3rd to 5th August 2007 and was held at Billing Aquadrome, Northamptonshire.

This event built on the success of the MGF10 celebrations which were held at the Heritage Motor Museum in October 2005. At that event there were over 500 MGF/TF cars present celebrating the tenth birthday of the MGF. It was a fantastic day and MGFest took the best bits of that event and put them together in a festival atmosphere to combine the more traditional MG car event with a party spirit.

MGFest07 took place on the first sunny weekend of a very wet year and attracted around 400 cars over the weekend

People took part in a circular road run, enjoyed a hog roast, listened to live bands, drank in the MG bar, took part in games and competitions ranging from a reverse steer MGF to an interactive Pride of Ownership.

There were also static displays celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the MGTF as well as displays of some special cars.

NAC MG joined us with a display of the new MG cars.

Roger Parker from the MG Owners Club was there and gave us a couple of sessions on car care and modifications.

There was an array of traders present so you could get all your MG bits with a stroll along "Traders Alley".

The Regional Areas organised their members in special paddock displays ranging from "Honest Arthur's Car Lot" to a "Time for an F" clock face.

The camping field was full of MGs but we were split up due to the previous three months of wet weather so the bar, camping and show field were in different places but we didn't let that stop our enjoyment of the weekend.

The event was not just open to owners of the MGF and TF, however, many other models from the MGB to a ZA Magnette attended.

All in all it was a great weekend and the weather shined on us as well.

We really enjoyed meeting as many of you as we could.
