Another slightly unappetising
day beckoned for Stoneleigh 2007. An early start for some of us meant
travelling up in some damp weather but we managed to get all four of our
show cars on the stand relatively unscathed. Their owners were quickly
out with leathers and polish to bring them all back to gleaming
condition again. The F Register stand featured the
first of this years TF 5th Anniversary displays with Paula Martin's 80th
Anniversary special and Tim Field's Sunstorm to one side of the gazebo.
On the other side was Steve White's 2005MY TF in bittersweet and special
guest Darren Vaughan with his recently acquired Mark Two Supersports.
This drew a lot of attention to the stand not least because it was back
to back with the Mark One Supersports on the MG-Forum.org stand just
behind us. It was certainly pleasing to see both cars together on
display like this. It was a busy morning with the
crowds approaching four deep on occasions in front of the stand and
throughout the halls people were elbowing for room. There was a large
display of MGs on the MGCC stand and many other clubs and forums
also had displays this ear. The usual vast array of parts and
accessories were on show for all to buy - of particular interest to F/TF
folk were Brown & Gammons, Mike Satur, Rimmer Bros and MG Mania. MG
Enthusiast magazine were there with this months cover star the Le Mans
MG C Type and the MGOC team were on hand to answer your technical
queries. There were several F/TFs dotted around the
hall with a nice 2004 Dover White TF115 for sale at just £7499 and a
couple of others in the general sale section. The best
bit was the chance for an early season catch up with all our MGF
acquaintances from around the country many of whom brought items along
to show us. The results of which you may see in future copies of
FasTForward magazine.
After an exhausting day it was time to tackle the
rigours of the M40 in the rain all the way home - that certainly held a
few challenges !
