Programming
123 Distributor
Programming
the 123 is as easy as '123', this guide shows you the step-by-step process of
connecting the 123 to the computer and installing an advance curve.
Please
to return to HomePage
Please click here to return
to the 123 page.
You must install the
123 programme before connecting the distributor.
Once installed, click on the 123 icon on the desktop to start the programme.
Remove
the screw covering the USB connector for the 123.
Connect
the usb cable to the 123 then to the computer (cable not supplied), I use the
one from my TomTom!
Click
on file, then import from file, then choose the file you want, then click import.
The
advance curves can be altered by left clicking on one of the points and dragging
the advance up or down or by typing in the boxes on the right. You can alter
the rpms of the points too. Once you are happy with the curve click on the store
icon. The graphs will go grey, when they light up white again the file is stored,
in this case in curve 1. To use curve 2 click on the curve 2 icon. Disconnect
the distributor from the computer and fit it to your car. We suggest you set
the timing using a variable timing light which reads degrees and set the timing
at say 4500, in this case 29.5 degrees. You can set the timing at any of the
known timings and rpms, for instance 24 at 2000rpm....it is as simple as that!
You can connect the distributor to the computer and alter the settings even
with the distributor still in the car. How easy is that?
