MGOC 2000
BILLING AQUADROME, NORTHAMPTON
24-25 June 2000

The MG Owners' Club event was designed to appeal to the whole family. Good weather (don't even mention last year's), weekend camping, road runs and a fancy dress party were a good introduction to the main day on Sunday.

Sunday saw a large Trade presence, concours and a full programme of activities including Honda Goldwing motorbikes, dog agility display, Carlsberg pipe band (probably), steam engines, falconry, an MGF talk with Roger Parker and Malcolm Gammons, the Fire Service demonstration and finished off with raffle and concours awards.

In the true fun spirit of these MGOC meetings the inter-area club challenge included human table football. This is an inflatable pitch where the players are restricted in movement. The assault course and boxing arena offered similar challenges for those entering into the spirit of the day.

Children could take their pick from bouncy castles, go-karts and a grand prix scalextric experience which dubbed with a Murray Walker F1 soundtrack saw some very competitive behaviour from children as young as 5, not to mention their Dad's!

... and for the girls? Reptiles and amphibians of course; Cornsnakes, Kingsnakes, Python, Leopard Gecko and a Tree Frog.. how lovely.
