July 24, 25, and 26, 2009 – 10th Annual GOBMC British Car & Cycle Blow Out
The event is sponsored by the Greater Ozarks British Motoring Club (GOBMC) and will again be held in Historic Carthage, Missouri. Registration begins Friday afternoon at the host Econo-Lodge Hotel and corresponds with our free cook-out and socialization gathering. Saturday morning the activities move to downtown Carthage where cars will be lined up for show and display on the square around the historic courthouse. There are various classes for British vehicles and cycles and one class for non-British automobiles. This is a popular vote car show. Judging and balloting will be conducted by the registrants. A driving event is planned following the show and the awards banquet, with dinner, is later that evening. This year’s theme for the awards banquet is “Favorite British Character”! The road rally takes you through small towns, past lakes and Amish farms in picturesque, rural LaGrange County of northeastern Indiana. You will be answering questions and gathering odds and ends along the way. True to tradition, the run starts at the historic Howe Military Academy in Howe, IN. At the conclusion of the rally, participants can enjoy a “Bring Your Own” picnic lunch on the school grounds while scores are being tabulated. August 1, 2009 - The 25th anniversary of British Car Day in Dayton, Ohio; the largest all British show in the Midwest. Over 350 cars will converge on the Eastwood MetroPark. 9 am to 4 pm , 1385 Harshman Rd. Dayton, Ohio The featured marques this year will be Morgan, in honor of their 100th anniversary, and the Mini, honoring their 50th anniversary. Entrants will compete for participant choice awards in 32 classes. In addition, the Rangers Choice, Royal Air Force Award, Longest Drive and Best of Show presented by the British Museum of Transportation will also be awarded. While the cars are displayed on the shaded, grass showfield, there will be vendors with new and used parts and memorabilia, a full service concession stand featuring grilled food and beverages and more than 100 door prizes for entrants. Advance registration of $15 will include a free 2009 BCD t-shirt if received before July 17, 2009. Dash plaques are guaranteed for the first 325 entries. September 6, 2009 - the Buffalo Octagon Association will be hosting its 26th Annual Autumn Sports Classic car show and picnic for sports cars and fine touring automobiles. This is a family oriented event, and will once again be held at the casino at Como Lake Park in Lancaster, New York. The field opens at 9 a.m. Judging is by popular vote and will start at noon.
