March 31, 2012 Columbia, SC. - 2012 Carolina British
Classic-VI
The British Car Club Midlands Centre is pleased to announce that the
2012 Carolina British Classics-VI event will be held March 31 at the
Columbia Speedway. British cars of all marques from all over the USA
are invited to share the wonderful weather and historic setting. Early
registration ends February 29th. Visit our web page www.bccmc.com for
updates concerning the show and to view pictures from last year?s show.
We have lots of room for all who want to attend. This year we will be
merging our event with the popular Tartan Day South festival being held
at the Columbia Speedway. The speedway is an historic ?vintage? track
from the early days of NASCAR racing. There will be lots of interesting
and entertaining diversions throughout the day and a variety of merchandise
and food vendors. A separate parking area is available for trailers.
Entry fee to the festival is complementary for drivers of cars registered
in the show and half price ($5.00 estimated based on last year?s festival)
for passengers of exhibited cars. As always, this is a charity event,
with a portion of proceeds going to local charities. We will also have
a 50-50 raffle and silent auction. Last year we were able to make meaningful
contributions to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Alzheimer?s
Association, American Cancer Society and South Carolina Mental Health
Association. Featured marque: The Mini Cooper, both classic and modern,
is the featured marque this year and we invite all the MINI clubs to
be well represented. Of course, we hope all the clubs in GA, NC, TN,
and SC will be well represented and we greatly appreciate all the individuals
and clubs who participate! Directions: To get to the Columbia Speedway
from I-26, take Exit 116 - Charleston Highway/Hwy 176/321 - go North
approximately 1.9 miles and then turn right into the speedway parking
lot. Signs will direct you to the entrance for car show participants
(which will be different than the entrance for festival goers not participating
in the car show). We look forward to seeing you on show day! Contact:

The last and BIGGEST North American 3 day classic Mini adventure in
the history of the world! Don't miss your last chance to enjoy the Springtime
colors, Mini friends, and twisty roads with a gaggle of classic Minis
before the Mayan calendar and world ends! This year we chose Cherokee,
NC as the base for our 3 day driving adventure. It's located at the
south entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and at the
beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway. As with all of our Classic Minis
United events, we like to drive, and that's what we'll be doing. We
will have drives each of the three days with plenty of stops and things
to see. Oh, and to experience the power of nature, we're offering optional
whitewater rafting! If you haven't been to a CMU event before, we do
it differently; we like to drive/cruise a lot and see all around the
area we're visiting. With this being a CMU event, you must be a member
to enter a Mini. Membership is free, if you own a classic Mini go to
the website and become a member! As with all of our events, this is
for everybody, but all of the drives/cruises/anything is only for classic
Minis and its variants produced from 1959-2000, no exceptions. There's
always room to ride in someones Mini if you come in something
else. We don't leave anybody behind! So, come join the 100+ classic
Minis before the world ends! Contact: Mike Guido. Phone: 321-890-9888.
