Dynamo / generator
Dynamo / generator from a Mk IV Sprite / Mk III Spridget. Also fits other years / models.

Removed from the car about 6 months ago when I rebuilt my engine with an alternator for more electrical power. Was working fine when removed. Bearings feel good. I've not inspected it internally but I believe it to be in good working order and ready to fit and use.

Competition Midget for sale
I have used my competition midget in the Luffield series of sprints & hillclimbes. Before then it was a FISC series race car. ....It is beautifully engineered, fast & enormous fun! (Luffield Northern class champion 2007, and National 2nd place in class 2008. A very attractive competition car finished in light blue with white hard top.

Spec:- 1965 mk11 shell, beadblasted to bare metal & properly restored with the following panels: new sills, rear half wings, front chassis legs, windscreen panel, door skins, aluminium front inner wings, raceweight fibreglass front end, race weight "works style" hard top, raceweight fibreglass bootlid.

New Peter May engine only done 8 events. 100 plus bhp at rear wheels, cost £2274, 1330cc, powermax pistons, piper 296 cam, Avonbar 11 stud big valve head, strapped centre main bearing, 11.7:1 compression ratio, webber carb on maniflow manifold, maniflow big bore twin box exhaust, lightened flywheel, Aldon electronic ignition.

Reconditioned standard 1275 gearbox, (Jack Knight straight cut, close ratio box as spare). 7.5inch rally comp clutch. Competition halfshafts. Double bearing hubs. Panhard rod. Limited slip diff with 4.5:1 ratio. (3 other diffs with different ratio`s come with the car.

Peter May front & rearsprings & uprated shockers, FISC spec triangulated top arms, negative camber trunions, 11/16 anti roll bar, wilwood brake & clutch master cylinders with remote resevoirs & hydraulic front/rear brake bias, (adjustable from the dash). carbon metalic front pads & ventilated rear drums. Fully welded in multi point roll cage. plumbed in OMP FIA extinguisher system. Standard tank foam filled with extra baffles. Willans3", 6 point harness.

The car is taxed & MOT`d because it runs in a roadgoing class, but not really suitable for road use without some de-tuning. ...Well known in MGCC circles, (pictured in this years Harewood hillclimb brochure). Midget R/B shell for sale
I have for sale a R/B Midget shell in very good condition.
The rear wings, floors and sill areas are very good as is the rear bulkhead and the A posts. It is a bare shell with no doors, front wings, bootlid or bonnet
A repair is required to the O/S front inner wing and bumper support arm. These have been removed because of damage.

1972 Austin ( Healey) Sprite -- SOLD!
I have for sale one of the final Sprites badged as a Austin Sprite instead of Austin Healey Sprite so British Leyland could avoid paying royalties to Donald Healey!

This car was registered on January 14 1972 in Somerset and is therefore tax exempt. Car has had only 7 owners in 37 years & spent some years in Spain, which probably explains the generally good condition.

The Sprite was last MOTd & taxed in 2002 & has been dry stored since then. The car starts & drives & if you have access to trade plates you could drive it home!

Midgets & Sprites like this are getting hard to find!

I have MOTs from Feb 1992 (93708 miles) to 2001 (95992 miles) Present mileage, which is probably genuine, is 96386.

Mechanical Condition

The engine is a Gold Seal replacement unit, which starts easily, runs well with no smoke or strange noises & standard oil pressure.

Gearbox is very quiet in all gears & I think it is probably a reconditioned unit.

Back axle is quiet.

Interior

The black interior is very straight & tidy. Door panels etc are all excellent as are the carpets. Seats are undamaged. Standard steering wheel so the steering is light!

Hood is excellent & there is a full tonneau & hood cover. A car cover is also included.

Wheels

All five are chrome wires. They need a good clean!

Body Condition

At some time the car has had bodywork – there are a few pics. Its been resprayed in Glacier White & the paintwork is still generally good. Details are;

Bonnet – excellent with no corrosion on front edge

Inner front wings – excellent

Outer front wings – The n/s is excellent & some minor bubbling at base of o/s

Doors – The n/s is excellent, the o/s should really be replaced. The door has dropped on the bottom hinge & the paint has cracked.

Rear Wings – Both excellent with some micro blistering on the o/s

Bootlid – Excellent

Floors & Spring Hangers – All excellent

Sills – the outer sills require slight welding

Front chassis legs – One requires welding on the anti roll bar mounting

Chrome – All good except for one rear quarter bumper.

A posts – The n/s is excellent. The o/s has signs of filler (done years ago) but no rust

B posts – Both excellent

The worst part of the bodywork is the driver’s door -- an easy replacement.

With a little welding on the sills & chassis leg the car could probably be MOTd, used this summer & improved over the winter.

I may be able to assist with delivery – but you could drive it home!

1275 RWA Midget for sale - Heritage shell, tax exempt.
For sale due to change in circumstances is our fantastic MG Midget. Rebuilt with a brand new RWA Heritage Shell it also benefits from a fully rebuilt and tuned 1275 engine, a Ford 5 Speed gearbox conversion, uprated suspension and is tax exempt.

New RWA Heritage shell fully prepared and painted by MG specialist Brown and Gammons in Signal Red. All cavities oil sprayed and waxoyled from new. Underside protected with waxoyl type sealer. Only 9,000 mostly dry miles since rebuild. Most chrome is new or in excellent condition. All replaced chrome waxoyled underneath/behind before fitting. Hood is Double Duck and is in excellent condition. Hood frame has been refurbished and a new header rail fitted.

Engine is 1293cc (+0.020), new AE pistons, reground (.010/.010) crank. New bearings, oil pump, cam bearings, cam followers, Kent 266 cam, duplex vernier timing gears, thick wall rocker shaft, A+ water pump, oil cooler, radiator, electric fan, Revotech adjustable fan control and alloy rocker cover. Cylinder head is A+ MG Metro (35/29) with new guides and unleaded seats. Head and block skimmed to give 10:1 compression ratio.
HIF44 carburettor on MG Metro manifold with full radius ram pipe and K&N filter.
LCB exhaust manifold and Maniflow single box system.
Gearbox is a reconditioned Ford Sierra Type9 5 Speed with MMC conversion with Frontline clutch and roller release bearing.
This engine has covered less than 4k and was properly set up on Peter Burgess’s rolling road giving approx 70+bhp at the wheels. It is very tractable, revs well and sounds great, has no leaks and gives 40+ mpg at 60mph.

Suspension
Front has 340lbs springs, 11/16th Anti Roll Bar with Superpro bushes, wishbones and kingpins rebuilt 1k ago with Superpro bushes.
Rear has STD springs with Superpro shackle bushes and is fitted with lowering blocks.
Brakes were all fully rebuilt (discs, pads, drums, shoes, hoses, lines etc) when the car was re-shelled and are all still in excellent condition.
Wheels are 5x13 Minilite copies with 165/70 tyres (Fronts are brand new Avons)

Interior
New black with red piping seat covers and black carpet/trim set fitted at time of re-shell.
New 13” Moto-Lita leather steering wheel.
Inertia reel seat belts.

The car has only been used in summer (and mostly on dry days) it has never seen a salty road and lives in a ‘Carcoon’ during the winter months. It comes with an extensive history file including loads of bills, photos of rebuild, some old MOT’s and even the original ‘Passport to Service’. It will have a full 12 months MOT and can be delivered anywhere in mainland UK for petrol costs.
