This year's event was hosted by Graham and Pauline on a bright
and warm Summer's day!
The Treasure Hunt took the Cavalcade of Excellence across
Lancashire and West Yorkshire on a cracking run that lasted over three hours
that was inter spaced with questions for the quiz at two locations. At the
second stop, at Coldhurst Visitor Centre, a very nice lady presented everyone
with a welcome choc ice to help them as they searched for the answers to the
clues. The winners of this Treasure Hunt were Dave and Fran Soye.
The happy MG crowd arrived at Graham and Pauline's home full of
energy and zest - well prepared for the fun and games to follow. But first we
all partook of Pauline's sumptuous buffet and possibly a well deserved Pimms
or two.
The games then followed. MG garden racing cars (throw a dice
and move a place). Mini golf (no holes in one!). Skittles (a pain to re-set
the skittles!). But we never got around to Hooplah, Quoits or pin the badge on
the MG because it was time for the cakes and strawberrys and cream. Mmmmm!
The winners of each game received a winners medal and we took
the opportunity to present Ray and Joan from Cancer Research UK with a cheque
for £175 being the proceeds from the recently held Cobblestones Run.
What a great day!
