EVENTS PAGE

The below list of events is published in order to help all MG clubs in North America to be aware of other events in their area when they are scheduling their own events. This hopefully will prevent the scheduling of more than one event, on the same day, in the same area of the country. If you would like to add an event to this page, please email the coordinator Rick Brown . Please use basically the same format as below - this will enable me to just copy it into the web page from your email. Alternativly, if you are an editor of a MG Car Club newsletter, you can add the council to your newsletter mailing list. Please send to: Rick Brown, Coordinator, MG Council of North America, 7146 Snowberry Loop, Brooksville, Florida 34602

Before heading out to any of the below events you should first check with the contact given to ensure the dates are correct and that the event is still scheduled to take place as planned.

May 16-20, 2008 Carlisle, PA. - Sprite Jubilee 2008
SPRITE JUBILEE 2008 Plans are well underway for what is likely to be the biggest-ever gathering of Sprites, at least since they went out of production in 1971. The event is the “Sprite Jubilee” to celebrate the 50th anniversary of these legendary cars, and it will be held in central Pennsylvania, near the city of Carlisle, May 16 -20, 2008. This event follows the tradition started almost 20 years ago now, when in 1988 we celebrated the Sprite’s 30th anniversary with “Sprite Fest,” followed by “Sprite Bash” in 1993, “Sprite Rush” in 1998, and “Sprite Spree” in 2003. According to the Global Austin-Healey Sprite Registry, of which I am Registrar, this location is within a short driving distance for literally hundreds and hundreds of Spridgets. Additionally, owners of ALL English cars are invited to Sprite Jubilee 2008. Special recognition and awards for all British cars participating will be made during the meet. The dates of the event run concurrently with the Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals, which will be held from Friday May 16th through Sunday May 18th, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Featured guests for Sprite Jubilee 2008 are John and Caryl Sprinzel, Gerry and Marian Coker. Stay tuned for details of this very special event updated regularly at www.austinhealeysprite.org or www.spritejubilee.com , and in the meantime you can contact me, Rick Moses, the organizer, at DR.MOSES@verizon.net and in person at nationwide toll free at 8SPRITE1MK – which is (877)748-3165 – during the week, or on my mobile phones on weekends (717) 379-5752 or (717) 379-5572. July 31-August 3, 2008 - West Dover, VT. - MGs in Vermont
This year “MGs in Bennington” has moved up the mountain to the Kitzhof Inn in West Dover, Vermont. The three day MG weekend starts Thursday, July31 and ends Sunday morning, August 3. I know those who attended last year had great fun driving Vermont’s fabulous roads, kicking all those MG tires, meeting old, and new friends, and seeing a bunch of MGs going through covered bridges. Once again this will be a low key event: no car show, no registration fee, no mud, just a designated host hotel, a reception (paid for by the Inn), an English family style evening meal (about $20.00 per head). This is a great opportunity for MG owners in the Northeast to spend a little time in the company of other MG owners. This year the hotel will be the Kitzhof Inn; we have reserved all 24 rooms for this event. A very reasonable price structure that includes 3 nights lodging, the reception and three scrumptious complete English breakfasts has been arranged: Single, $156.00; Double, $255.00 and Triple $318.00. Reservations should be made directly with the hotel: www.kitzhof.com/pages/mg.html or 800-388-8310, / Fax: 802-464-2675 . There is no registration fee for attending “MGs in Vermont” but as I would like to keep a record of who’ll be attending, I‘d appreciate your e-mailing me at mgadavid@yahoo.com Contact: David Werblow. Phone: 860-267-1432. Website: www.kitzhof.com/pages/mg.html.
