Some weeks ago I received an online registration saying that the Magnette has a Ford V6 engine. Curious as I am I asked for more details. After several mails and pictures I understand that the owners registration was absolutely understatemet!
This is perhaps the first Magnette that will start it's second live as a Hot Rod. Not that thing for Concours lovers and purists, but absolutely special.
So here's the story of Myron from sunshiny Florida:

The car was in a flood in 1984 or 1985 here in Florida and was completely covered under 5 feet of salt water. there was nothing lef of the floor or interior, but I liked the way it looked.
I do sheet metal work and restoration on old cars, so I replaced all sheet metal around the doors and made new openings and constructed a frame made from 2 in x 3 in tubing, to carry the body.
I've been working on this project for about two years and I'm comiing close to start the engine for the first time.

But no floor, no bulkhead, no trunk.
First assembly of frame and body after tack welding.  The "luxury" inside the passenger compartment has been replaced by the frame.
This frame will carry the Magnette body.

Passenger side of engine bay area. The hole in the firewall is for the roll bar, which mounts to the firewall and frame (removeable).
New firewall installed and the start of wireing.

Is this the result and same car?
These two pictures were found on the web in December 2004.
Looking at the rear the frame seems to be the same. Unforzunalety no information are available and the owner did not response for years...
