Silverstone 2004

On the weekend 23. - 25.07.2004 the Silverstone racetrack was totally M.G. As usual there were races over the days, tradestands, Gymkhana, Concors, Pride of Ownership and much more. For the Magnetters it was the warm-up before the official Golden jubilee celebrating a week later.

The register sold the new regalia items with the anniversary logo and after a few hours you could see the shirt everywhere - nearly. To be honest the X-Power clothes are  more a mass product.
We also had a very good turnout with over 20 Magnettes! Usual Silverstone sees half of them!
Maybe a lot of them came for the parade lap, where 19 Magnettes did 5 laps on the Silverstone circuit.
John Hale started second last and finished first! But his car is "a bit" modified... While Jörn Rasmussen from Denmark was afraid of running out of petrol because his gauge went wrong (" I could hear the pump ticking very fast after every corner") I swapped some litres on the circuit because the filler flap opened! Carsten Wivel (DK) noticed that as a bad trick to keep him back behind (greeetings from James Bond). I hoped to keep up with John for a while, but the green/green Varitone of Janet & Jo cornered much to slow so we lost contact (haha).
In fact it was great real fun, much too short and not too serious. I hope the others had at least half the fun my family and I had ("Dad try to get the Magnette in front of you... ... and the next, too...)
