50th Anniversary Celebration in USA

you’d like to see that at least someone on this side of the Big Pond
tried to celebrate the 50th Magnette year by gathering every known,
available Magnette within driving distance of the CT shoreline to the CT MG
Club’s 17th Annual British-by-the-Sea show at the Harkness Memorial
State Park in Waterford, Connecticut on Sunday, June 6. We had three Magnettes
show up (two from CT and one from NY), one short of the four needed to have our
own judging class, but because the day was rainy, our Magnettes were the only
“MG Saloons” entered. So we had that whole class to ourselves and everyone
took home a trophy! I had a laminated poster with a brief history of the
Magnette composed and displayed on an easel, and we had lots of nice comments
from the several hundred visitors who came out despite the morning rain. Sorry
the picture isn’t better, but had to grab it when it wasn’t raining. Left to
