Report on Gathering of the Faithful

Four Magnettes and an 1100 set off from Pheasants Nest on Friday touring scenic countryside on a quiet backroad through Crookwell, Boorowa, Harden, Cootamundra, Junee to Wagga Wagga.
On arrival at the motel we were greeted by other Magnette owners from N.S.W. (Cundletown, Willow Vale and Bombala) and a short while later the Victorian contingent arrived consisting of five Magnettes. Unfortunately two Magnettes failed to arrive due to unforseen circumstances (brake trouble & personal issues) but much more greeting and introductions as more owners of these sporting saloons are making the annual pilgrimage to share in the weekend festivities making new friends with similar interests. As you can imagine there are a lot of ideas on improvements and modifications shared throughout the course of the gathering.
Friday night was the Noggin Natter buffet dinner at the local RSL which is a good opportunity to relax, enjoy the meal and the company at your table.
Saturday morning is registration time and the ladies take themselves off for some shopping therapy whilst the men remain with the cars to discuss important matters relating to MGs etc. then a picnic lunch in the shade of the trees.
Saturday afternoon is the fun run 2where we end up at a hall somewhere (Wantabadgery) for a gastranomic smorgasborg of cakes etc. called afternoon tea supplied by the ladies of the Wagga Wagga MG Car Club.
Saturday night was the GOF dinner at the Turf Club and once again a great night was had by all.
Sunday morning, breakfast in the City car park with the display of MGs of all classes and judging then presentation of awards. If you haven't added up the number of Magnettes yet it was five ZAs and five ZBs one of which was a Varitone.
Winners of the Magnette class were 1st Terry & Helen Healey from Willow Vale, 2nd Brian & Julia Woolmer from Seaforth and 3rd Peter & Lesly Baldry from Castlereagh.
By 9.45am the goodbyes were completed and we went our various ways home.
Thank you to the Wagga Wagga MG Car Club, Wendy Croker the Organiser, the Magnette owners around the states and the people who do not yet have a Magnette on the road but turned up to join in.
