12th Z Magnette Day
27th - 29th June 2008 in the area of Kassel/Germany
Friday morning.
Light showers. But still time to leave for the Magnette Day. I'm sure it will
lighten up, as we always had sunny weather on this event!
So was this year! At midday the sun appears and makes the 100+ miles trip a
pleasure. Not all of the Magnettes that appeared had the same luck, as some got
stuck in Friday afternoon traffic. Anyway. In the end 10 Magnettes from
Luxembourg, the Netherlands, England and Germany assembled in the Kassel
area. Unfortunalety two couples had to swap their Magnette against a more modern
car, but at least they took part.
Well, the event itsself is a selfrunner (this is what the participants feel, but
I'm sure the organizers had some work before). Friday assembling, hugs here,
kisses there, and welcoming new and old friends. The friendly athmosphere
can be felt everywhere.
Saturday: at breafast the latest news and changes since a year ago are shared,
before we set of for a pleisure trip. This brings us along several castles und
ruins that are believed to be the model for some fairy tales of the Brothers
Grimm. Also the landscape is wonderful for the eyes (and tyres).
The evening brings the traditional BBQ, with lots of meal, wine, beer and
singing!
Nevertheless we all get up early on Sunday morning for another tour and
sightseeing.
Suddenly it's sunday midday and everybody has to leave. How fast a
beautiful weelend can pass.
My thanks go to the Krahn's family for organizing a lovely event and everybody
who took part to make it a successful event. C U on the last weekend in
June next year in .... (planning started!)
Here are several pictures showing the nice German landscape with nice British
saloons.
