Continental Old Z Meeting 2008 in the Netherlands
What a stunning weekend it was!
A full programm in the “Land van Maas en Waal” area. Starting on Friday evening
with a diner in the hotel with view over the river. Meeting old friends and
making new friends.
On Saturday we met a Magnette driver who was not able to join the meeting, but
loved to see the convoy of 28 Magnetteers from NL, BE, DK and UK.
With 12 competing cars we drove over the dutch dikes to a small company where
tin memorabilia are made for a guided tour in the factory. Next we had a lunch
in an apple and pear orchard with the sun high in the sky.
Later we had a game in sports and tasting the local fruit jams. Then the next
route over the hills and through the woods for the next stop. The glider airport
where we enjoyed our drinks and ice creams. Eddy Lepez made the beautiful group
picture. Back to the hotel for a complete barbeque with French fries and several
salads. Time for a cold beer after a day full of impressions.
Then on Sunday we drove another part of the county to the last stop of the
event. We had lunch at a nice yacht harbour, there we met a Dutch MG Magnette
Farina driver who showed his interest in our cars and us.
