for Ys at Weddings ... of his wedding actually!
Back in the 1960s Peter owned a Y and the family have now unearthed the old
photographs!
Jerry Birkbeck is urging any one not
yet registered at the hotel for this year's Spring Run to do so. He says:
Following the
interest in this Spring's Weekend in the Cotswolds we now have 18 rooms booked
at Stratton House Hotel - the venue for an informal afternoon gathering and
Dinner on Saturday 10th May and the start point for the Spring Run on the Sunday
morning.
I have spoken to
the Hotel and they have confirmed that they will hold a further 21 rooms until
early March. This means that we will have the whole Hotel to ourselves if all
the rooms are taken!
To ensure that
this can happen I would like anyone who is anticipating attending to contact the
Hotel immediately to demonstrate that there is the interest there. If it is left
to the last moment then the Hotel will open their bookings to all and sundry and
those who phone me up at the end of April and bleat that there is no room
available - well tough!

Although the 60th anniversary year
has come to a close, David Pelham has correctly pointed out that:
On the 4th October 2008 we will be
celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the first YT to come off the
production line. The first 5 cars to come off the production line were numbers
YT/EXU/1922 – YT/EXU/1926. All 5 cars were destined for the USA market.
YT/EXU/1923
is the first YT featured on YTs on Parade and no fewer than 3 of these first 5
cars are confirmed survivors; two are in the USA and one is in the Netherlands.
David has also offered to do
something special for the October 2008 news release - so keep watching this
space as they say!
Christian Le Cour has sent in an update to his entry on
Ys on Parade for YT 3421.
Karl Heinz Borchers has sent in some details of a Summer gathering he is organizing in June this year for Ys.
This has been added to the Events page.
Registration is limited to the first 30 cars due to German government
restrictions though so be quick.
An application form has also been
posted for the UK Spring Run to the Events page.
Finally for today, we are currently
unable to supply either ashtrays for the front seats or bulkhead wiring
grommets. We are hoping to be able to resume supply of the ashtrays soon,
however a volunteer is sought to make the rubber bulkhead wiring grommets.
If you are interested in helping fellow Y owners restore their cars to a high
standard of originality and wish to help with the supply
of rubber bulkhead wiring grommets, please contact the webmaster
for more details.
