About the North West Centre

Every member of the MG Car Club is allocated to one of the club's 13 geographically based regional centres that aim to bring together local MG enthusiasts so that they can participate in locally organised events.

The North West Centre's remit is to cover the interests of members in Cheshire, Clywd, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Gwynedd, Isle of Man, Lancashire, Merseyside & Shropshire.

The thing to remember is that The Centre is run by members like you. We endeavour to arrange a variety of events in which you can use your MG at minimum cost - real "Grass Roots" motorsport. We know that entering your first event may be a fairly daunting prospect but we strive to be as friendly as possible so don't be afraid to give the organiser a call; tell him that you are new to all this, and he will help you.

The Cockshoot Cup Championship

Have you ever wanted to race an MG sports car? Now is your opportunity.
The Cockshoot Cup Championship is a race series based in the North of England. All MGB and MG midgets are eligible to compete in one of three classes for standard, road-modified and fully modified cars. There are end of season awards for each class and the Overall Champion wins the prestigious Cockshoot Cup, a fifty year old silver trophy. All drivers are welcome in this friendly championship.

The Luffield Cars MGCC Speed Championship

The Luffield Cars MGCC Speed Championship is the ideal first step into the world of motorsport. You can take your standard MG road car and with minimum of safety related modifications compete on level terms with fully modified specials on some of the most prestigious Hillclimb and Sprint venues in the country. The cars are released singly and are electronically timed to one hundredth of a second. The Luffield Speed Championship is well known for it friendly competition with beginners always welcome and sound friendly advice only a phone call away. Classes are available for all MG's from MMM to the latest ZT 360 over 5 levels of modification. Play MG style.
