This month we celebrate the achievements of the MG EX179 breaking 16 “Class F” records at Bonneville in August 1956. The following extracts and pictures are from a contemporary report written for the American magazine “Sports Cars Illustrated” and published in January 1957. Read here...

The MGA yearbook has been uploaded once again as there were missing some pages...
Piers Hubbard and I are now in the final stage of preparing the 2005 MGA
Yearbook for printing, and are pondering how many copies to have printed,
towards the end of May. If we print too many, we'll have to pulp some and
make a financial loss, but if we print too few, like "Call it MGA",
the publication will soon sell out and we'll have disappointed MGA
enthusiasts again. Therefore, we are interested in expressions of
interest from prospective purchasers.
The final draft 80-page content, a collation of stories of events in 2005
and recent MGA information coming to light, is currently as follows:
- Preface
- Introduction
- Home market RHD events (inc. MGCC Silverstone and Round Britain tour)
- European LHD events (inc. Le Mans re-enactment)
- Overseas RHD events (inc. South Africa tour)
- North American LHD events (inc. Lime Rock Fall Finale)
- MGA People (inc. Geoff Iley, MG Deputy GM, on the Twin Cam model launch)
- MGA Archaeology (inc. Steve Dixon on YD3/627/S and Robin Barker on
chassis)
- Book-ends (inc. 100000, 1962 Sebring #53 and Gouguen EX182)
Unlike "Call it MGA", whilst there are slightly fewer pages, all the
Yearbook pictures are in full colour (other than the few period B&W photos).
The Yearbook should cost no more than "Call it MGA", which was 15 UK pounds
plus postage charges.
Back to the purpose of this posting, if you think that it is probable that
you will wish to purchase a copy of our Yearbook, please email our MGA
Register Regalia manager, Russell Hudson at
russell.hudson@ukgateway.net,
and let him know.
No commitment implied, of course.
Russell can then use your responses (or their absence) to help figure out
the optimum number of copies to order from the printer.
Many thanks.
Enjoy your MGA in 2006.
I have asked Robin to post some sample draft Yearbook pages so
you can take a
look here (pdf document 670kB) at the sort of content - it may change a
little in the final published version.

K&R Replicas now have the MGA EX182 cars available as either the Le Mans entered
cars or the Dundrod TT cars. Basically the Dundrod cars were identical to the LM entry except that the Lund car had a conventional rear view mirror and the Fairman car had a bulge on the bonnet and number plates, neither car had the spotlight mounted in the grille as the LM car did.
