"MGA colours gallery goes live."
Take a look at our latest web page where you will see a picture of all the possible colour, trim and body combinations in the 1500 and 1600 MGA factory colour options. To be truthfull, you will see that our photographers have been busy at this years events, but we have not seen all of the options, and this is where you can help. We need your pictures to make the gallery complete, so if you own, or if you see one of those missing models, please take a picture and send it to webmaster(at)mga-register.org. If you wish, we will mention your name on the web site for each picture added to the gallery, but not without your ok in the email sent with your picture.

Counting down to Silverstone 2003!

Just a few more days to the biggest event in the UK for MG owners. Silverstone 2003 gets underway on Friday of this week
For full details go to www.mgcars.org/carclub then click on Silverstone.

MGA drivers will be directed to the Register parking area, then make your way to the main marquee where you will find the Register stand. We will be pleased to help with your technical and restoration questions. The full range of MGA regalia will be on sale, including the Twin Cam Group grille badge, now back in production.
You can also check and update your car's registration details, or just tell us how the Register can help you.
On both Saturday and Sunday we will be awarding the Register's "Car of the Day" Judging will start at 1.00pm and the winner will be announced at the Register stand about 2.30pm. This is not a concours, we are looking for a car with that "something special" which makes it stand out from the rest.
We are setting up a picture gallery on this web site where we hope to show every possible variatiant of MGA body shape, colour and trim. This weekend is a geat opportunity for our photographic team to collect a picture of your car, look out for them in the MGA Register car park. We need about 140 cars to cover all the possible options, so if you have an unusual colour or a rare model,e.g. De Luxe coupe in Alamo Beige, then please make the effort this year and  come along to Silverstone 2003.

In 2005 the MGA will celebrate it's 50th anniversary!  We plan to hold a series of events to commemorate the key dates from 1955. Please notice that the Register welcomes overseas MGA owners, who bring their MGA "Back to Britain". Look here for more details and watch this space for more information over the next months.

Nostalgia will be the word in 2005. Here are some images from 1955 to get the party going...

And then we have pictures and report of the Heartbeat tour.

The new 1/18 scale models of the MGA are available now. I already bought both models (Roadster & Hardtop) and I can confirm that the high standard of the prototypes (as described some weeks before here) can be found on the models, too. Much better than the old Polistil models.

MGAs in 70 year celebration parade
Five MGAs took part in a parade of MGs at Oulton Park race track in Cheshire to mark 70 years of the North West Centre of the MG Car Club. Cars were selected to represent each one of those 70 years, the 5 MGAs on show were made between 1958 and 1962.
We were given 5 laps of the track behind a pace car driven by Ron Gammons.

Another tech tip added: MGA 1500 disc brake conversion by Stephen Gyles.

14.04.03
Over the weekend I visited the Techno Classica, Europes biggest faire for Oldtimers and clubs. I only saw two MGAs for sale at a price of about 33,000 € (each)! A quick look in the engine bay offered some unoriginal parts like spark plugs, wiring etc. Not too bad, but I think at this price one can expect orginality...
I also spoke to the sales manager of Revell. The announced new MGA model is delayed. It is expected to be for sale in three or four weeks.
And for those of you who can't get enough technical tips, we added another one. Read Steve Gyles' report about fitting a boot lock.

Our MGAs are still worth to be used as background in modern catalogues. I found these pictures at  tchibo.de.  Look here and here

Ever struggled with folding the MGA hood without scratching the windows? Read our new technical tip: "Folding the MGA hood".

MGA in LeJog:
Two MGA's took part in LeJog. The green 1957 MGA coupe driven by Geoff Awde and Nick Pryor finished 2nd in the sports cars 1941 to 59 up to 2200cc class. (Here seen as the car left the special stage at Wigan Water treatment works.)

The other MGA, Andy Cooper (seen above with daughter Molly before the event), crashed in the Welsh forests. He rejoined  the rally for the Sscottish stages but had to retire with gear box failure.

January:

 MGA for £42000

Mystery buyer gets MGA for £42000 (that’s about 67000 dollars or euros)
The ex works rally car RMO 101 was sold at auction in the UK, but who knows who the buyers is?
