Sunday 26 July
Social Drive & Visit to the Muckleburgh Collection

Photo shows Steve & Alison's MG Metro at the Muckleburgh Collection
Steve & Alison, assisted by Peter & John, organised a visit to Norfolk’s largest working Military Museum at Weybourne, near Holt, Norfolk; the Muckleburgh Collection. Our photographers were busy recording a taste of the day as you'll see below. Thanks Tim and Roger . . .

One of the starting points was Tesco's carpark in Kings Lynn (left and above); cars arrived from other starting points . . .

The Museum itself was fascinating with us all learning a lot about all aspects of the armed forces. The photo (left) shows just how large some of the tanks on display are. Behind the tanks, is a Bridge Builder which had to be seen to be believed . . .

After the visit, it was decided some refreshment was required so we all relaxed in the garden of the hostelry in Weybourne village.

The MGPB "AVF50" had us green with envy!

Visit the collection's website for more information - www.muckleburgh.co.uk

Landlord's Choice - Thursday 18 June 2009

A fine evening, twenty one MGs from seven decades and lots of enthusiasm from members in Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk meant the Landlord's Choice at the Woolpack Terrington St John enjoyed a great evening.

MGs were arriving from 7.30 to 8.30 p.m.
Joyce brought her Old English White MGA to join in the fun (left).

Midgets from the 70s and 40s and a 1950s MGA and 1940s Y-type line up for the judges. Just peeping into the picture (below left) is an MGBGT V8 with "MG" numberplate.

A colourful line up of classic MGs including just two MGFs - completely different to the Landlord's Choice at Lincoln which included a high percentage of MGF, TF and LE500.

Left below Simon T introduces his son, Rohan, to MG friends. Rohan is our youngest member; unless you know different!

Right below Steve Kemp shows Paul Johnston the article in "MG Enthusiast!" which has made his MG Metro famous for ever.
The article shows Steve's Metro from every angle inside and out and he is very proud to have been chosen. The car is a regular visitor to events in the Lincolnshire Centre and beyond.

Matthew and Dee (below left) were concentrating hard on the job in hand - to judge the MGs and choose the five they would most like to own - then putting them in order 5-1.

5th was Simon Temple (below right) - MGBGT

4th was David Stonehouse (right in the red sweatshirt) - his MGBGT V8 is being judged by Matthew & Dee (above)

3rd was Rob Ely shown left with his MGCGT and 2nd Caroline with her MG Y-type (below).
Lee J's MGZS (below right) shows the MG tradition for shiny black saloons is still going strong after sixty years!

And the winner is . . .

Harry Eddison (below left) receiving his 1st place Rosette from Steve Kemp, Matthew and Dee.

Harry with his MGA (right); for the second year the winner of the Landlord's Choice - with two different judges!

Thanks to Steve, Alison, Matthew & Dee and to Richard Sivill & Sheila Laurence for the photographs of the event.

The Woolpack Dinner on Thursday 19 February was a great success and a tribute to the hard work of Alison, Steve & John. The devious quiz items had us all guessing, but it was Joan and Paul who won with 19 points from Jane & Peter with a very credible 18.5.
It was great to see friends from Anglia Centre enjoying the Dinner with Lincolnshire Centre members and we hope to see you all again at future Lincolnshire events . . .
It was also an opportunity to present Bruce Cox with the Bush Trophy for the Best Score in the Autotest Series in a Long Wheel Based MG - his MGBV8.
Congratulation to everyone for another successful Natter event.
  • The Woolpack Day Out on Sunday 26 October 2008 visited Oxburgh Hall & St George's Distillery.
Thanks to Steve & Alison for organising the event.

"Oxburgh Hall" gardens were visited first followed by the Hall. John Hebb took this shot of the carpark; if you look carefully you can see the MGs . . .

John C took the photographs of the Hall and Moat and the Swans enjoying the day.

  • Then onto "St George's Distillery". (Photo below)
  • John C also had his camera poised inside the distillery . . .

  • After the tour they popped next door to "Swallow Aquatics"
  • A great day was enjoyed by all and there are already plans for a similar event in 2009!
  • Landlord's Choice Thursday 19 June 2008 (photos above and below courtesy of Sheila Laurence
additional photos courtesy of Richard Sivill)
The Woolpack Natter attracts MG enthusiasts with MGs of all ages. The Landlord's choice evening was well supported: Saloon cars included an MGZS and ZR lined up with a Montego and Metro, Z Magnette and MG Y-type; Sports cars included T-types, MGAs, MGBs, an MGC and MGFs.

Richard Sivill polished his MGB and brought his camera along to give a photographer's view of the scene. To purchase any of the photographs below please contact Richard.

Ben keeps us all in suspense about the Winners (left) . . .
