Norfolk Week 2011
What a great week!
I was only able to attend on the Monday & Tuesday but the atmosphere was superb with members travelling from far and near to join in the fun . . .
I'm hoping other attendees will forward their photos and a few lines of proses from the other day's events for the website. Thanks a lot, Chris, Nigel & Wendy and Rachel for yours . . .

Monday 30th - Poppy Line Plus - a day out on the Poppy Line Steam Railway.
Organised by John Collier, this was a very interesting day including a train trip on the Poppy Line from Holt stopping at Weybourne where 20 of us visited the engine sheds and enjoyed John's informative talk on our way around the carriages and engines . . .
We returned to the station to board the train and travel to Sheringham, where most of us enjoyed some seaside Fish and Chips!

| I was only able to attend on the Monday & Tuesday but the atmosphere was superb with members travelling from far and near to join in the fun . . . The organisers - Steve & Alison, Peter, John and Bruce - are to be congratulated on putting together so many parts of the jigsaw and making it possible to dip in and out as our lives allowed. I understand 2012 is likely to be a week in Devon & Cornwall with 2013 another Norfolk/Lincolnshire based week. I think we'd all better get our holiday forms in to ensure we can enjoy mutual good company . . . Sheila Laurence |
Nigel & Wendy Pack sent these thoughts from their time in Norfolk . . . "Another brilliant day at Gt Massingham Autotesting, must be the best yet. Such a good gathering of MG folk, from tatty midget, (mine!), through nice Midgets, B's a V8, F's and a superbly driven series 1 land rover from the late 1940's, to the new spectating MG6. Peter Thompson's exceedingly well driven MGB Roadster won the day, with Ena Fox first Lady. Quite how the organisers manage to run 12 tests and Finish for 14.00 for an excellent lunch at the "Ruddy Duck", I think beggar's belief! We then had a scenic drive to Swaffam for a walking treasure hunt, I am sure the exercise post lunch was welcomed by all. Our intrepid chairman, David Stonehouse put his legendary detective skills to good use to lead his team to the win. There were some very happy MG'ers at the BBQ on Friday night. I feel that the organisers deserve all the plaudits they have received and much more. Regards Nigel and Wendy Pack. Thank you. |
Rachel M-B emailed her thoughts on the week . . . Whilst I didn't get to all the events, due to other commitments, it was fantastic to have the opportunity to meet the D&C people as I am not able to get on Janner's Week. The group who came up were lovely and friendly - and hopefully they enjoyed their time as much as I did. |
