Now in its 18th year the successful and long running Footman James Northern Classic Car Show this year takes place on Sunday 28th November 1999 at the G-Mex Centre, Manchester.

This year’s show will host a record number of participating club displays, making the show one of the biggest collection of classic and veteran vehicles ever seen under one roof in the North of England, and a major event on the classic car calendar.

Over 70 clubs will be on display, ranging from Austin to Wolseley, including all the famous British, American and European marques such as M.G., Jaguar, Triumph, Daimler, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Volkswagen, Volvo, Ford, Rover and many more. The special display feature at this years show will be hosted by the Barnsley Morris Minor Owners Club, winners of last year’s best club stand award.

In addition there will be over 50 trade stands, a large "genuine enthusiasts" autojumble, dealer stands and other special attractions. In all over 250 quality classic veteran and vintage vehicles covering all aspects of our motoring heritage will be on display.

The whole of the multi million pound G-Mex Exhibition Centre will be used with over 200 separate stands.

Organiser Robert Ewin says "The show is firmly established as one of the UK's leading classic car events and is without doubt the biggest and best classic car event in the North of England. The show goes from strength to strength and we are looking forward to a very successful and well attended show. The event is a favourite with classic car clubs who put on marvellous displays showing wonderful cars. It is a really good day out for all the family. 'Cold Fire' instant surface cooling and heat protection spray

Designed as a spray-on heat control facility when welding, brazing, soldering, metal cutting and grinding, 'Cold Fire' is a new surface cooling and heat protection fluid that controls heat to 3000 degrees F (1600+ degrees C) and is exclusively available in UK from Agriemach.

Developed in the US as a fire suppressing agent, the product rapidly cools hot materials on contact, and shields delicate materials from heat. Being a spray its application both as a heat reducer and heat shield is flexible and instant.

Because it is now possible to pretreat and protect areas that will be exposed to extreme heat, it is a highly efficient time-saver. For example, when carrying out welding/brazing repairs on tubing framework, and sheet metal, maintenance engineers no longer need to remove valves, instruments, or rubber/plastic components as 'Cold Fire' isolates these items from heat damage. And thanks to its non-staining and odourless properties, vehicle repair shops can now protect interior fabrics from flame when welding body panels and similar. In the US, motorsport enthusiasts are using the spray to cool intake manifolds between rounds.

'Cold Fire' is around three times thinner than water with the capacity to penetrate rapidly, encapsulate the heat, and disperse it at an ambient temperature. It keeps heat concentrated where it is needed while acting as a shield to unwanted heat spread. This is particularly beneficial in preventing distortion of thin metal by dissipating heat evenly across the material's surface and through its cross section.

Compared with water, recent laboratory tests with steel, glass, sheet metal and copper showed in all cases a dramatic reduction in cooling time. Copper heated to 500 degrees F and cooled to 84 degrees F with water took 4 mins 30 secs, where as with 'Cold Fire' the same test only took 27 seas. Looked at another way, 27 secs is a mere 10% of 4.5 mins (270 secs). Even a cleaning cloth impregnated with sprayed fluid will protect the hand from the direct flame of a blow torch.

NEWS Everyone needing to control heat will benefit with 'Cold Fire' including professionals, vehicle enthusiasts, DIY homeowners, and firefighters.

Supplied boxed, 'Cold Fire' cooling spray is non-corrosive,non-toxic,100% biodegradable, and comes in a 32 oz (0.9 litre approx) plastic bottle with a trigger spray applicator.
