Carburettor better flow modification |
I have improved a few in SU
carburettor for the MG 1 1/4 litre -
Type H2 Spec.456. When the original SU
pulls the choke lever, the
throttle and the jet
will move at the same time.
Under these circumstances, an
ignition (or spark) plug's
performance may deteriorate.
I attached the cam to standard SU
carburettor. Only the
throttle moves by the 1st operation, and
the throttle and the
jet move by the second
operation. This improvement is very good
for when the engine is completely
cold such as in Winter.

Distributor toggle or bob weights and springs |
I am an expert
in fixing a distributor assembly using
toggle links. So far, I have fixed
DKY4A, DKYH4A, D2A, D50, 25D, 45D types. A
distributor assembly is like a pacemaker of an engine, if
it is serviced to perfection, the car's
performance will be definitely upgraded.
I am able
to fix any types of distributors at very reasonable cost but since each part
is made by
CNC machines
individually to order, costs
may be higher than a
regular mass production part.
A video clip
of a recent rebuild I did on a DKY4A can be downloaded
here. You will need Windows Media Player or a
similar viewer to watch these. |

The rebuilding process |
Even original new old stock (NOS)
wiper motors are made to work for
not more than one hour
continuously. The CW
wiper motor will get so hot that it
is difficult to hold it by hand.
So far, I
have ever rebuilt several CW type wiper motors. The typical problems are:
1) The movement is always slow,
2) The movement is getting
slower during
use, and
3) Sometimes, the motor would not start
All of these problems
arise from burnt coils inside the motor. According to my experience, even though the appearance of coil maybe good, there is
usually something wrong inside and burnt coils always cause many problems such as above 1), 2) and 3).
I rewind 5pcs of coils on armature and stators using modern and specially heat resistant thinner type wires to improve the performance. My rebuilt motor
has less heat and more power. A video clip
of a recent rebuild I did on a CW1 can be downloaded
here. |
