Hello there, and many thanks for deciding to visit the website of
East Sussex MGOC, the local Club for MG car owners and enthusiasts.
We meet on the second Tuesday of every month except December at the Wellshurst Golf Club, Horam, with the
meetings scheduled to commence at 8:30 pm.
The Club has a registered membership in excess of 150 and average monthly attendances of 60 plus.
Click here for an enlargement of these good-looking folk and their cars!
We try to arrange at least one Club Event each month and attend many of the National and other Area Events
including, if possible, at least one Club organised Weekend Break and overseas trip per year.
A monthly magazine "Update" is published by the Club and is distributed at the monthly meetings or can, for
those who find it difficult to attend, be dispatched by post at a cost of £8 per year. This keeps the
membership fully informed of the Club activities and any additional items which may be considered of interest.
The Club has a strong social bias and endeavours to maintain a friendly approach to new and existing members.
It is the aim of the Secretary and the Committee to further promote the Club in the area and to ensure that
all members enjoy the Club activities in which they take part.
We regularly have in excess of 30 MGs at our monthly meetings, and the current record is 40. Any MG owner in
the area is very welcome to join us at one of our monthly meetings and, who knows, maybe if you join we'll
make it 50 cars one day !
For more details, email us or contact our Area
Secretary, Carrie Laxton, Tel: 01580 881165.

And, talking of numbers, about 125 MGs turned up at Herstmonceux
Castle afew years ago for a very special East Sussex MG Club event, when we were fortunate enough to be
invited to visit the magnificent property and hold an MG 'gathering'. Cars came from all over Kent, Surrey
and Sussex and the weather was kind to us.
This picture was taken from high on the battlements and shows some of the cars displayed in front of the castle.
If you had been down there looking back up, you would have seen the East Sussex MG Club flag flying proudly
from the highest tower. Many thanks to all those who came along, the members who helped to organise the event,
and to our hosts - the International Study Centre. It was
expected to be a rare 'one-off' event, but was so successful we might try and do it again some time....
