BARC/MGOC Croft
(9th round)
Class B
.The ninth round of the MGOC Championship was staged at 'Croft' the North York's circuit on Sunday June 30. With Daryl Davis on form at Croft, he was able to fend off a first lap offensive by Fergus Campbell and managed to sustain the lead until lap four, where Davis made an error and went wide and handed the lead to Campbell on a plate ! Davis then lost another place to Iain Evans to put him third. By now the frustration was beginning to show as Davis battled to retake the lead. But it was not until lap eight, when shear determination got Davis past Campbell at the chicane. Another couple of laps and it was all over ! As the flag dropped it was Davis, Campbell, Evans and in a very credible fourth place Adrian Olsson.

Class A
Like the Class B race there was to a be change of fortune for the front runner, but this time it was after six laps, when Matthew Read ( MG Midget ) threw away the lead after running wide at 'Sunny', and as a result gave the race to Nigel Woolcott ( MG BGT ) But, unlike the Class B race, the former race leader would not regain the lead, in fact Read lost a further place and ended up in third position. So ! across the finish line it was Woolcott, David Kimber, Read and Terry Farman in Fourth.
