BARC/MGOC Oulton Park
(6th round)
Class A
Damon Hill made a terrific start at this years Grand Prix in Monaco, perhaps inspired by the blinding start made the previous day at Oulton Park by Matthew Read in his MG Midget. But Matthew was to throw away his advantage after spinning at Cascades. After that both Darrell Atherton in Midget and Alan Yeoman in an MGB Roadster had a brief spell at the front. But by the fifth lap it was Nigel Woolcott who had taken the lead, and who was to maintain his posistion until the chequred flag. Alan Yeoman had to be content with second place, with David Butler happy with his third spot !

Fergus Campbell could have won this one !, but he was judged to be guilty of straight lining at the Knickerbrook Chicane and was given a ten second penalty, which, put him back in second place. So the honours went to Adrian Olsson which undoubtedly made his day. Michael Weidner, deservedly, finished in third spot .
