BARC/MGOC Silverstone March 9th
(1st round)

The season got of to a cold but dry start at the Northamptonshire circuit, Silverstone, and as always the MG's proved popular with the spectators. The BARC/MGOC rounds proved to be the closest racing of the day, with two races flying the flag for MG out of a seven race program.



BARC/MGOC Class A

This was the closest finish of the day, with the superbly fast Alan Yeomans running second for most of the race, taking the win from Jim Baynam. This was the only place change among the top four,in third spot was David Butler ahead of reigning champion Nigel Woolcott.

BARC/MGOC Class B

Yet another close race to entertain the crowd, almost a repeat of class A except that the leading pack was made up of 5 cars. Rob Addison, in his MG Montego held off Michael Weidner in the Maestro. In turn Michael had taken second place from Andy Cambell at Brooklands on lap 7, Nick Golhar and Paul Naish were right on the the tailgate of Cambell but were unable to get past
