Our talk in November by Jim Baynam was an eye opener to say the least, by one who has done so much on the circuits (racing wise) and behind the scenes (organisation wise).
It was good to hear Jim's accounts of the racing that he has done, the crashes he's had, (hence the nickname 'Basher Baynam') and how much he has spent! It made a great evenings entertainment. Thanks Jim. As some of you may know, our very own webmaster follows the racing very closely
and does the racing web pages for the MGOC, why not take a peek

Remaining on the subject of racing, Cambs MGOC chairman, Brian Fish races an MGB, competing in the Anglia Phoenix Championship. The final race of the season was held recently, & once again Kelvin was there with a camera to record the event
MG Car Club Racing

In November we visited Brown & Gammons (who are based in Royston, Hertfordshire, which is about a 30 minute drive from Cambridge) where we were given a guided tour by the Brown & Gammons General Manager. The premises of B&G are quite impressive and consist of repair/ restoration shops. We were shown some unique MG's which were in for either a total or partial rebuild. In the workshops on the night we visited there were some Race and Rally cars, as seen in the photo above. One MGB GT that we saw was almost finished after a complete front end replacement up to the bulkhead, someone must really love that MG! We also had the opportunity to get a generous discount on anything we purchased that night in the B&G shop, which was opened up just for us . I for one took advantage of this offer, and bought a few bits and bobs for the Midget
We are welcome to go back next year, and I am sure we will, there is always something interesting to see.
Our sincere thanks to Ron Gammons and his staff for a great evening!
