September's Happenings

On Monday the 1st September we all met at the Green Man for our humorous photos & caption competition, and what an entertaining evening it turned out to be with everyone having a go at putting funny and double edged captions to the photographs, the judging was quiet difficult since there were so many excellent “one liners” however Martin did stand out with very punchy captions that had us laughing all evening. The second event of the month was a run to an alternative pub organized by Ray.
We all had to meet at the Tesco car park in Cambridge.

It always amuses myself that when ever a club of classic cars meet in a public car park it tends to draw a small crowd and as you get talking to them they always tell you that they used to know someone who had an MG, and what fond memories they have of those days gone by……… at this point I usually point out that there are more brand new MG's around today, and that the good old days are back! Sadly we forgot to mention to Kelvin, the owner of one of the most modern MGs, the MG ZS180, powerd by a superb V6 engine, that we were meeting in the Tesco car park, so the gathered crowd missed out on seening one of MGs latest offerings! As the sun went down we left in convoy to the Plough at Fen Ditton, which is a beautiful riverside pub, (where Kelvin was found sat waiting!!). We had a most pleasant evening chatting about Life, the Universe and any thing else we could think of.
