| Ray's Ramblings! | Cape to Cape Challenge |
Hello from Cambridge
We had a mystery run one evening recently, and whilst we were congregating in the car park someone arrived in a Rally MG who we did not recognise at first. The driver got out then we knew who it was, Dave minus ponytail and facial hair!!! He had lost it in aid of charity It's refreshing to see that so many people especially those with MG's and other classic cars do so much good by attending local Fate's or organised runs where the proceeds go to charity. (By the way, I'll have to stick to showing off my Midget at such events, as Hair is not one of my assets now.)
Hope you all went to Billing this year, as the weather was kinder for the MGOC National Event there. I could not go this year due to family commitments so this part of the round up is courtesy of Robin & Joyce Rayner
"Most of our members went in convoy this year to the best MGOC event we have been to and it did not rain, lots for the whole family to do, other attractions were, a good auto jumble and demonstrations, one in particular upset one of our club members when the Fire Brigade cut up an MG Maestro as a rescue demonstration! Falconry displays and inter club Knockout that attracted lots of interest. There was a large selection of fine MG's to look at which is always a crowd puller".
Club Concours
The club concours competition was rearranged for Aug 7th due to thunderstorms and half the Concourdians unable to attend. To those who did brave the weather, well done.
Treasure Hunt
No rain for our Treasure Hunt, just a fine evening for us and the organiser Jeremy. Eleven MG's found their way along some of the narrowest, winding roads in the Cambs & Essex area finding clues along the way. Dave North & Tina managed to find all the clues; the rest of us could to varying degrees be said, "To be clueless" Well done D & T.
