Hello from Cambridge
What a difference good weather makes to our outings, roof open or folded
back out of site in my case, wind in the hair the smell of the countryside
not to mention Diesel, Rapeseed overflowing Sesspools rotting vegetation
etc. "Ah" what a joy so lets make the most of it whilst its summer.
Our drivers exchange evening, well more of a "Lets frighten our passengers evening" went off without any coronaries or fainting fits so it was a good evenings fun.
The Golf evening(sorry) Pitch & Putt went as well as could be
expected only one proved that he knew which way up one should hold the Iron!
Well-done Dave Revell.
We also had an invite by a Charity club to show our
cars at Rowley Mile racecourse in Newmarket at which some of our members
attended in the scorching heat. Marshall's of Cambridge displayed all their
new cars including the new MGF Trophy (the one that's yellow). It was billed
as a 2 counties Motor Show and was attended by a huge number of people
including Microlites Motorbikes also a fair number of Classic Car clubs. (what no pictures? - webmaster)
Coming up on our Simply the best calendar.

How lucky am I to be one of the very first peopl outside of MG Rover to test drive a new MG!! (are you envious already?)
Well I consider my self to be extremely lucky, and to get a drive only days before the 'offical' press drives whch were held in South Wales. Not only did I drive the wonderful V6 powered MG ZS180, I got to photograph the car also (a few exterior shots see below)
For the complete review Click here I was at MG'M' 2001 the main event for MG Metro, Maestro and Montegos at Stanford Hall, near Lutterworth in Leicestershire. (Just 1 hours drive from Cambridge) I was the only person to go from the Cambridge MGOC, but maybe I can drag the other club members along next year?

Besides the 'Modern' MGs there were some oldies too!! Some 300 - 350 cars turned up on the hotest day of the year, it was a wonderful show!
