The 2nd June kicked off with the Drivers Exchange evening with a good turnout of old and new MG's It gave many of us a chance to see what it is like in each others cars. A big thankyou to all, especialy Ron in his beautiful TF, in which he kept on taking members for the ride of their life.
All in all a very pleasant evening.
Saturday the 7th June was the day of our "Fun Concours" held at Melbourn Villege College, the afternoon was a great success with many MG's joining the concours event that we had not seen before, and hope to see again soon. People attending were all given a voting form so that they could judge the best cars in each class (it makes for interesting conversation as you walk around). Well done to all the winners in each class, with special mention to new members Chris for best modern, Ron & June for best car to take home. Best hard top was won by Dave, with a very close second being the black BGT entered by "OWL".
The beautiful green Midget was the winner of the best soft top, which all of us just wanted to jump in and drive off into the sunset.
Rover dealer Mantles also displayed a selection of new MG's which they were more than happy to demonstrate with many members going out on test-drives, (I'll have that one, and that one,……..)
We also raised a total of £ 232 for Opportunities Without Limits (OWL), a Sawston - based charity which strives to improve the lives of people with learning difficulties.
