Cambridge MGOC Club News

Meetings 1st Monday of each month at THE GREEN MAN, Shepreth, 8pm; 3rd Mondays may be at the GREEN MAN or may be elsewhere. Always check before travelling, either with me, 01223 861908 , or with the person shown beside the event that interests you in the list below.

At our recent meetings we have welcomed several new members. Among the indoor activities they have taken part in have been Quizzes on Gardening, Classic Cars and Driving Knowledge. The last one made a few of us go out and buy an up to date copy of the Highway Code. We had a good turn-out for our Easter Run, when went back to a route we had used several years ago. It was so much more fun this time in fine weather because the last time we were hunting treasure in a downpour. This time the lucky winners were Peter and Jane Cowper.

MGs await await their turn to set off - parked on the Brooklands banking

The oldest MG on the Regency Run

One of the newest MGs on the Regency Run

A few years back I recall several cars and their owners, went on the annual Regency Run, this year I was the sole representative of the Cambridge and District MGOC in my shiny ZS180. This was my first real 'organised MG event' in the ZS and my first run for many years as I tend to shy away from them due to poor map reading skills within the family!! The route from Brooklands to Brighton was pretty easy, just a couple of minor hic ups along the way, we were not the oly ones I'm glad to say! Well over 600 cars gathered on the seafront at Brighton, a wonderful sight!! If you have never done this run then give it a go, a marvellous experience.

  • Oldest MG side view
  • MG Magnettes
  • Long line of MGs
  • MGF at finish line
  • MG ZT
  • I liked these two!
  • Time to picnic!
  • MG Maestro Turbo
  • Another MG ZT
