| Ray's Ramblings! | Stoneleigh 2000 | New Newsletter |
I hope you are eagerly awaiting the weather to brighten up, as spring rapidly approaches, so you can fit those new bits and pieces to your MG's ( you know those bits that you got for Xmas) or perhaps you purchased some parts at the annunal spares day at Stoneleigh recently?
Since our recent AGM we have made some changes to the format of the club, and we hope that these changes will strengthen and improve the clubs activities. The committee have produced some cracking fliers and info brochures. Also the first edition of the new look club magazine is well on its way as I write. The printed version of the newsletter has not been produced for some time, but the committee have got round the table, drunk a few beers and have come up with a new look magazine which will be the envy of many a motoring journalist!

I'm not exactly sure how many years the Stoneleigh MG Spares Day/Show has been running, I think this year may have been its fifth birthday? Anyway no matter how long its been running it gets better each year, with an ever wider spectrum of goods on sale from an ever increasing number of stalls. Well yes! there is an awful lot of junk, and you wonder if anyone ever buys some of it, but amongst the junk, you can always find that part you thought you could never get, and its at an affordable price too.
I did not buy any MG bits this year, but I did treat myself to a new set of screwdrivers, at a price I found hard to resist! All the major MG traders clubs were represented. Weather wise (must get a weather report in somewhere!!!) it was a beautiful day, many MGs arriving with the top down. Wet weather though earlier in the week did make the car park and the surrounding roads a little bit on the muddy side to say the least, but hey what do expect in mid Feb?
The newsletter includes a welcome and an introduction of our most recent members. News also of past members, one who recently returned to Germany along with his wife and two new babies. One baby was his MG Midget which he bought while in living in England for a couple of years!

Our New Newsletter
The Club has just launched its new PRINTED NEWSLETTER. I've managed to get a copy hot off the press, well the laser printer actually. It is Very much a joint effort of the committee members, and the first issue is excellent, future issues promise to be even better! The content of this months newsletter should have arrived via email in time for me to include at least some of its content on this page, but alas I am still waiting! So I'm afraid you will have to make do with just a picture of the cover.
