AGM Editorial

Editorial
At the recent AGM of our club it was reported that all aspects of the club were in a healthy state, a report of AGM is below The coming year looks as if it will be once more packed with events and it looks as if we are in for another busy year. On a personal level I will be doing a lot more in 98, as in continuing to put these pages together, and expanding my coverage of MG Motorsport not only on the WWW, but also the MGOC's club magazine Enjoying MG

MGOC RACE CHAMPIONSHIP

A day at the races can be great fun, so try and get along to one of the race meetings during the year, you might pick up a few tips on how to make your MG go faster and handle better, the racers are a friendly bunch!! The championships also has three new sponsors!

Well thats about it, not much to say from me this month!!
Next month: Hopefully there will be news to bring you on Cambridge MGOC member David North, who this year has entered the Mote-Carlo Challenge 1998
We wish him luck, I hope to get down to theBrooklands Museum to see the Brits leave for the continent, and perhaps get some pictures!

Minutes of  the meeting held at Cambridge Motel, Shepreth on19th January 1998.

The meeting opened at 8p.m with an excellent total of 36 members attending. Keith Fairchild started with a summary of the accounts. We have a total of £403.00 in the bank after purchasing a Gazebo (all members can hire this for a small fee) and donating £250.00 to MAGPAS. It was unanimously agreed that Subs should go up to £8.00 for a single membership and £14.00 for joint - This is now due. A vote of thanks was given to Keith for an excellent job and he agreed to continue doing the accounts for us.

A presentation of Whiskey and Cuff Links (with a "B" on them ) was given to Brian and Flowers for Rita as a thankyou for his sterling work as Area Secretary. It was unanimously agreed that Brian should continue, although he stated that with his venture into racing (we wish him lots of luck ) he could only give 99% to this. The committee are going to do all they can to lighten his load. It was agreed that Jeremy Mustoe would act as his Deputy or Vice Secretary when needed.

A vote of thanks was given to Jacqueline Deakin and Myriam Thompson who retired from the committee. They both worked very hard and it was appreciated. They will be replaced by Joyce and Robin Rayner. A vote of thanks also went to Kelvin Fagan for his work as Editor for the Newsletter, and the maintainance of the Web Site.
