After months of preparation the MG ZS Touring Car finally made its competition debut at Silverstone circut over the weekend of September 8/9 2001. MG attracted huge amounts of interest from BTCC race fans and MG fans who had perhaps never been to a British Touring Car meeting before. Beside the two touring cars MG had also a display of it new saloon cars and the Le Man 24hr car. At 9.45 on Sunday 9th September the pit lane opened for the public to get close to the cars and drivers, the MG pit garage was swamped by fans. Many fans purchased the race regalia on sale which included flags with the MG X-Power emblem on. It certainly added plenty of colour and atmosphere to the event. Next races Donington Park 22/23 September.
