MGs on the Knockhill Circuit

 Introduction

Rounds 8 and 9 of the MGOC Cutom Lifts Championship moved to north of the border and to the dramatic location in the Scottish Highlands. This is possibly the first time a championship round of the MGOC championship has been held at Knockhill! (perhaps someone will correct me if I'm mistaken!) Like the previous rounds at Anglesey this was to be a double header, two rounds at the same veniue. But unlike Anglesey the races will not be spread over two days, but held on the same day, a tough schedule for the MGs to meet!

 Class A Race 1

A repeat of the Anglesey battle for supremecy just a few weeks ago once more between Gary Smith and Lorraine Clark. It was Lorraine Clark who took the honours in the first of two races this weekend here a Knockhill.

 Class A Race 2

Race 2 and Lorraine Clark once more looked set for further victory, but running wide at 'CLARK Corner' Lorraine allowed Gary Smith to pass on lap 3. Smith retained the lead to the finish!. Kelly Mercer, in only her second season of racing battled well to come from being last up to third place, passing Jim Baynam on lap 13. (unlucky lap for Jim)!

 Class B & F Race 1

Spots of rain greeted the Class B cars & the lone MGF to the grid, but then the heavens opened (as it does at Knockhill from time to time!) Paul Naish faired best in the tricky conditions, after fitting wets at the last moment. Moving up from the rear of the grid to first after 3 laps.

 Class B & F Race 2

The second race was run in the dry, and was a terrific race! Nick Evans as in the first race, was the early leader, with a whole pack of cars out too get him! This included Cole, Campbell, Naish, Golhar, Bull and Arden. But it was James Perry that finally wore Evans down with just three laps remaining. Andy Campbell was third almost glued to the rear bumper of Evans as they crossed the finish line
