Round 13 was to prove unlucky for some!.....Read on!

Class A
Terry Farman on Pole followed by Phil Walker, Roy Clarkson, Huw Taylor, Richard Harrison and Mick Mercer. An impressive line-up of 18 cars with less than 3 seconds separating them.
A clean start was made by all and Phil Walker led the pack into the Brabham Straight where over exuberant marshals had heavily dusted a previous oil spill, everyone following Phil crossed the start finish line with little more than a bonnet length of visibility but despite this all made it cleanly through Paddock Hill. Farman chased Walker with Clarkson, Taylor, Harrison and Mercer in hot pursuit.
The unlucky Mercer, who had yet another tyre disintegrate ( the same problem that put him out at Snetterton in Round 11 ) in the practice session, had engine trouble on the second lap which put Clark in 6th.
Farman eventually got passed Walker as Clarkson and Taylor watched from close behind. Harrison had a relatively lonely race in 4th unable to make an impression on the leaders nor be caught by the next group Clark (Lorraine), Valentine, Johnson, Clark (Julie) and Bell. A coming together between Clark and Valentine at McLaren shook up this group and allowed the leading group to pull further away.
Despite valiant efforts Walker failed to regain the lead and Farman secured the win, and the championship. Second was Walker followed by Clarkson, Taylor, Harrison and Johnson. Fastest lap went to a delighted Taylor.

Class B
Mellor took an early lead and settled in until a collision at Paddock Hill Bend left the unlucky Olsson, Golhar and Devine tangled and the red flags came out. Olsson was left stranded at the track edge after being T-boned by Devine and hit across the front by Golhar who ended up in the tyre wall. All the drivers were OK unlike their cars.

In the restart ( which was now to be an 8 lap race instead of 12 ) Mellor quickly took the lead again with Campbell and Davis in pursuit. Paddock Hill took yet more victims in the shape of Natalie Butler who glanced the Armco and bounced back across the track in front of Martin Meads, who did an excellent job in avoiding her, but ended up firmly planted in the gravel.
A delighted Mellor took the chequered flag for what was, I believe, his first win. - well done.
