Quiz Night
On 6 November it was quiz night again. Peter, who had set up a quiz for us earlier in the year, had not forgotten that his questions were far too hard for us. He had therefore tempered the challenge that the quiz would pose to us, or so he assured us beforehand. The quiz had 50 questions, in 5 categories, including children’s’ rhymes, sayings, sport, places around Britain and finally, politics. Each question scores 2 points when correctly answered. John and Rosemary, who managed to score 48 points won first prize and choose a car cleaning kit. Andrew and Doreen managed 43 points and went home with the Jack Daniels, whilst Andrew and Rob scored 38 and won the hyacinth for 3rd prize. Peter, the questions were still too hard!!

Bowling Night
The last meeting in November was our bowling night organised by John and Ann in Ely. We had a very good turnout of 15 members and 10 players. Some of us decided it was too difficult to bowl with one hand and drink beer with the other! It turned out to be a hot competition. Our 2005 champion was not present, but our 2004 champion, James, was. He settled for second place with 230 points, behind Rob who won overall with 236 points. John came third with 190 points. Most players scored above 150 and special mention goes to Doreen who had never played before, but managed to accrue 165 points!!
