In March there were two meetings of the club. Monday the 6th of March Jacquie and John presented their Music Quiz, a varied selection of classical and popular questions were put to some twenty members, who braved the biting cold east wind, Questions both Audio and Verbal were posed to the meeting, we all got the easy ones right, but there were many mind benders, some, you had heard of but could not remember, others not a clue. The result was the boffins of Martin, Peter and Alan became the winners and enjoyed a miniature Bailies, at home of course. Our Thanks To Jackie and John for compiling the Quiz, which was enjoyed by all. On 20 March we visited an alternative venue (The Quy Mill). It all amounted to a select gathering and a comfortable natter night venue for a cold winters evening. Our events organiser, Alan Griffin, has clearly got the hang of things. After organising the Snowdrop run in February, he is keeping us all busy planning for the largest event that Cambridge and District have ever organised. Yes, it is the Eastern Region Area Gathering and Picnic, which will take place on Sunday 11 June, between 11 am and 5 pm at Wimpole Hall and Home Farm. We invite you to come and join us and explore the delights of the 18th Century House, Home Farm with its Rare Breed Animals, The Stable Block, with newly restored clock and tower, with its shops and Cafe, Shire Horse Carriage Rides, the extensive gardens and estate park. Entry to the picnic grounds, and to include a taste of Wimpole, a Hot, Home Farm produced, Pork , Beef or Vegetarian Roll . A prize for the furthest travelled and the oldest M.G.
