The MG Owners Club National Event, MG'99, this year was held at Billing Aquadrome, in Northamptonshire. Seen as a return to the traditional event, such as was held at Knebworth for many years, Billing Aquadrome proved to be an ideal setting, and seemed to be very popular with those that camped over for the weekend. Various activities were arranged for the weekend, including two live bands and a disco on Saturday evening to keep everyone entertained, and if you happened to be a 'Status Quo' fan, then you were in for a treat!
On Sunday, a central arena was to host a multitude of displays and activities, but the good old 'British Weather' had other plans. Sadly rain showers throughout the day played havoc with the timetable. The driving tests organised and run by the local MG Club, Northants MGOC, managed to dodge the showers. With a selection of trade stands, and a strong entry in the 'Concours' competition, there was still plenty to keep everyone occupied.
