MGA

The legend of the MG name in the US
grew even stronger with the launch
of the MGA. This much sleeker, more
aerodynamic car arrived in the US in
1956 and was immediately entered
into the high-profile Sebring Grand
Prix of Endurance 12 hour race in
Florida as a way to raise its profile.
The car subsequently proved so
popular that of the 100,000 plus cars
which were built at Abingdon, nearly
90% of the entire production was
exported to the US, with many models
still on the road today.
A visual feast of MG history across the USA
during the second half of the 20th Century
